About Me
Nice to meet you, I'm Efrat—a culinary professional, artist, and writer. Since 2000, I've been based in Tamil Nadu, sharing stories of local food and traditional family cooking through my culinary lens.
My journey combines a deep passion for Middle Eastern cuisine, which I grew up with and have professionally practiced, alongside extensive experience cooking in India.
In Auroville, I continue to explore the rich tapestry of flavors, colors, stories, and culinary traditions, reflecting on my life in Tamil Nadu—from the lush forest surroundings to my role as a 'culinary ambassador,' introducing Indian cuisine abroad and sharing Middle Eastern flavors in India.
Author of 'Happiness Tastes Like Curry - My Indian Kitchen,' a finalist for the 2016 Gourmand World Cookbook Award in the Indian Cooking category.
Food is a connection, something we share, speak of, and tell stories about.
Cooking is an adventure and a journey into new areas of taste.
It's a way to express on a plate what we cannot always put into words.
We share who we are through food.
